Gorri d'Ansa
AOC Irouleguy

The vineyard of  Iroulguy, located in the heart of the French part of the Basque Land, represents 220 ha cultivated by 50 vine growers. It is planted on the South hillsides of the mountains at an altitude between 200 and 450m. Shielded from the northern wind by the mountain range. The vineyards find here a micro climate characterized by nice autumns, with southern winds which favoured the maturity of the grapes.

Gorri d'Ansa is made from 60% Tannat, which gives structure, power, alcohol and a high aging potential, 18% Cabernet sauvignon, very rich, which gives structure, volume, blackcurrant and pepper aromas and 22% Cabernet Franc, which gives finesse, elegance, and red fruit and hay aromas.

After a direct and gently pressing started a short maceration (7 to 10 days) which will privilege the fruity expressions and sweetness of the tannins. Then the wine will be aged in stainless steel tanks during 16 months.
